Obama Deception

4 06 2009

Obama Deception is one of many documentaries you might want to watch. That is, if you don’t want to loose your grasp on Reality!! Many believe what the Church says, or the what the politicians say, but most of all, people tend to believe what television and newspapers give away as the Truth. Please don’t! If you really want to know what’s going on, try at least, to compare it with your own experience and with Internet information. Talk about it. There are a lot of independent documentaries which will show you other sides to a story, as well as blogs and other internet sites. I do understand how difficult it is to know the reality regarding certain issues like war, money, politics, religion, etc…Basically it is so bad that one doesn’t accept it that easily! I do believe in Change, and reckon that if many of us speak out, in the future, other generations will have the possibility to do something. And that, that is being optimistic. Most of us have been brainwashed since we were born, and are continuously through the Media. And I admit that it is easier to cover our eyes, ears and mouth whenever Reality gets on our way. Please don’t be lazy. Make an effort. Life should not be about money and power. There is more to it.

Here are a few examples:

Lift Your Fist

2 02 2009

we the ppl will not be chipped

Artist: Guru & The Roots

Album: Jazzmatazz - Streetsoul (Vol. 3)

Title: Lift Your Fist

Guru]
Yeah.. Guru, huh, The Roots
Yeah, c’mon y’all uh, lift your fist
Uhh, yeah, lift your fist c’mon
(Uhh)

[Chorus: Black Thought]
To all my people, just lift your fist
Seem like it ain’t no peace, no justice
How you want it, the bullet or the microchip?
Either way you got to lift your fist; we get it down like this
To all my people, ball up your first
Seem like it ain’t no peace, no justice
How you want it, the bullet or the microchip?
Either way you got to lift your fist

[Black Thought]
Yo, c’mon
We livin life close to the edge, don’t push
But this ain’t eighty-three and it’s not the Cold Crush
It’s kids on the street strapped, huffin that kush
They eyein the next cat, livin all plush
I guess frustration make a brother do what he must
What’s the combination that can make a human erupt
Team leaders gettin mutinied up, who couldn’t read
the signs, thinkin the day and times is (??)

[Guru]
Indeed, we blast, refuse to kiss ass
Quick fast, ready to mash cause of a bugged out past
Swallow the pain, follow the mental terrain
It takes a hell of a man, nowadays to maintain
Garments bloodstained, face bruised and battered
Our eyes reflect the agony, of dreams that were shattered
And they love it, when we wild out and kill our own
but the greater responsibility, yes, is still our own

[Chorus]

[Guru]
Uhh, worldwide famine, ghetto people demand
that somebody do somethin soon, and let’s examine
the facts, behind the violent attacks
Behind the daily gunplay the cocaine and the crack
Thug season – what’s the reason for the treason?
Everybody’s gotta eat, some gotta resort to thievin
Take money money make money money money..

[Chorus]

[Black Thought]
Yo – from the time they eyes open til the clock strike death
Brothers is stressed, walkin ’round holdin they chest
They got the government surveyin they steps and can’t breathe
They dynamitin them projects to smithereens
Money comin but them days too few and far between
You tryin to taste just what the world’s offering, ya’mean?
I seen enough to make a grown man scream
Brothers thirsty and hungry to get that thing

[Guru]
Too many tears of pain, too many years of struggle
Too many drops of blood, too many problems to juggle
Too few jobs available, too few schools equipped
Too few role models; just gangsters and pimps
Will you succumb, will your heart grow numb
or will you save the world, and use your mind like a gun?
I’m the one – I turn a stick-up kid to a soldier
Me and The Roots, word up, we’re takin over

[Chorus] w/ variations (2X)

New Year, Healthier Living

8 01 2009

Sports, for some may sound like work but it is definitely the best way to save money, and to improve our “Quality of Life”. Everyone seems worried about saving money for the future, saving whilst working like an animal in order to rest later on. Well, I can’t see much logic in that, but hey, I won’t discuss it now… Important is that most of us work our asses off, having no time for friends and family, hobbies, arts and sports… And then when we reach 64, we haven’t done anything exciting and we do not have the same amount of energy anymore; unless we do something about it. That’s why I say that practising sports is half-way for a joyful living now and later, because we naturally avoid future health problems, avoiding at the same time spending our retirement money on health issues. And then dancing, skiing or a quick sprint to catch the tram won’t be a problem anymore either.

Swimming is said to be one of the best options, if not the best. Yoga and Pilates for flexibility, core strength and balance; jogging and cycling for cardio and working out at the gym are some of many things one can do. There are many interesting programmes with loads of different objectives like Body Pump, Kick Power and so on….it’s just a matter of picking our favourite sport and start having fun. Yeah, we need it too in order to have a healthier life.

What about Diet? What to eat? Whenever we think we know that what we eat is good for us, we read somewhere that scientists only recently discovered that a certain product is not as good as they advertised. For instance we learn in the food guide pyramid the amounts of what we should eat and from what group of food. Of course nutritionists do not approve most of it, and especially the milk group causes a lot of controversy. I’m a diary products fan, I must confess. It is hard to think that I’m going to eradicate all milk, yoghurt, ice cream, cheese… but I came to the conclusion it is bad for me, and I’m cutting with it…little by little…got better already by eliminating UHT milk…

To drink water is definitely fundamental!! 4 litres a day is what I should drink….I’m fairly active.

I’ll be posting lists with info on food, like 5 food items a week, or at least I’ll try… :)

Something that greatly improved my health, was reducing stress in about 70%…I used to live in a really polluted and noisy place, but not anymore! Still have to deal with airplane and church noise tough (f*@k|n’ bells :( )… but the air is considerably better.

Steam bath has been helping as well, and if I had the money I would surely try to have acupuncture and massage appointments every week.

And for now that’s about it. Have a good and healthy year! Take care!

A Psalm of Life

26 10 2008

longfellow

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. 1807–1882

What the Heart of the Young Man Said to the Psalmist

TELL me not, in mournful numbers,

Life is but an empty dream!—

For the soul is dead that slumbers,

And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!

5

And the grave is not its goal;

Dust thou art, to dust returnest,

Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,

Is our destined end or way;

10

But to act, that each to-morrow

Find us farther than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,

And our hearts, though stout and brave,

Still, like muffled drums, are beating

15

Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world’s broad field of battle,

In the bivouac of Life,

Be not like dumb, driven cattle!

Be a hero in the strife!

20

Trust no Future, howe’er pleasant!

Let the dead Past bury its dead!

Act,—act in the living Present!

Heart within, and God o’erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us

25

We can make our lives sublime,

And, departing, leave behind us

Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,

Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,

30

A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,

Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,

With a heart for any fate;

Still achieving, still pursuing,

35

Learn to labor and to wait.

Emily Dickinson

CXXVI

THE BRAIN is wider than the sky,
For, put them side by side,
The one the other will include
With ease, and you beside.
The brain is deeper than the sea, 5
For, hold them, blue to blue,
The one the other will absorb,
As sponges, buckets do.
The brain is just the weight of God,
For, lift them, pound for pound, 10
And they will differ, if they do,
As syllable from sound.

Emily Dickinson (1830–86). Complete Poems. 1924.

The Soul’s Prayer

THE SOUL’S PRAYER

In childhood’s pride I said to Thee:

‘O Thou, who mad’st me of Thy breath,

Speak, Master, and reveal to me

Thine inmost laws of life and death.

‘Give me to drink each joy and pain

Which Thine eternal hand can mete,

For my insatiate soul would drain

Earth’s utmost bitter, utmost sweet.

‘Spare me no bliss, no pang of strife,

Withhold no gift or grief I crave,

The intricate lore of love and life

And mystic knowledge of the grave.’

Lord, Thou didst answer stern and low:

‘Child, I will hearken to thy prayer,

And thy unconquered soul shall know

All passionate rapture and despair.

‘Thou shalt drink deep of joy and fame,

And love shall burn thee like a fire,

And pain shall cleanse thee like a flame,

To purge the dross from thy desire.

‘So shall thy chastened spirit yearn

To seek from its blind prayer release,

And spent and pardoned, sue to learn

The simple secret of My peace.

‘I, bending from my sevenfold height,

Will teach thee of My quickening grace,

Life is a prism of My light,

And Death the shadow of My face.’

Playboy Dictator

19 07 2008
kimjongil

kim jong il

North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il is an eccentric leader indeed; kidnapping and collecting Japanese women to fulfill sexual fantasies (rumor?), writing operas, alcohol addiction (expensive cognacs) and bombings are some of his preferred hobbies. While there is a cult of personality around his image in N. Korea, he’s a strong target for satire outside his own world.

Probably ashamed of his humble origins (guerrilla camp somewhere in Soviet Union – 1941) the “dear leader” made sure that in official biographies stated something else (Baekdu Mountain – under a double rainbow and a magical star – in Japanese Korea – 1942).

kimjongil

kim jong il

Dictator Kim Il Sung (his father and founder of North Korea), headed the Korean Worker’s Party (KWP) and the country since independence in 1948.

After World War II and the Japanese occupation in the peninsula, Korea was divided into a communist north and a south under American influence. By 1950 a war was started between the two Koreas, with China supporting the north and U.S.A. the south. 2 millions died until it ended 3 years later. The isolation from North Korea starts around this time, so they start searching for the self-sufficiency of their country. Their economy grew until the 70’s but they could simply not compete without private and/or international investments.

Kim began his political career in 1971 through the same party and around 1980 his father named him his successor.

The country he runs since 1994 (since his father died…) is considered by many the most oppressed in the whole world, certainly being the most centralized. Devastated by hunger (10 million currently starve to death) and isolation not only from the outside world, but also because there are many families who have been separated for more than 50 years and in 2000, only 100 north Koreans were allowed to see their relatives from the south side.

His father started the whole thing up, but Kim is a far worse man than his father ever was. As a cruel dictator, he has good capabilities: runs an autocratic system with slave camps, killing thousands of people (or ordering it…) and after all that, makes people believe he’s the right man for the job.

One of his biggest self-defence weapons is the fact he knows North Korea has no oil whatsoever and he plays very well accordingly. And who knows what secret arrangements he might have with other world leaders?

Nevertheless, his standing army is the fourth largest in the world and he continues with nuclear testing, which he believes is imperative, also a good manoeuvre to keep the military happy.
